Rev up your engines! Seattle Community College District in partnership with Seattle area health care professionals,
educators and community members is getting ready to deliver healthcare and other volunteer services in developing
countries. We are revving up our efforts to raise funds to send student volunteers.
SUMMER 2013 PROGRAMS
The Global Impact program through Seattle Community Colleges is an opportunity participants
cherish for the rest of their lives. They make a big impact in the communities that they help but, a bigger impact is
made in their own lives. Global Impact began in 2006 and hundreds of people have participated in Vietnam, Peru, Tanzania
and India. This year, we are piloting a program in Cape Coast, Ghana. Volunteers have improved the living conditions of
thousands of individuals through better drinking water, medical/dental care, installing efficient cleaner burning cooking
stoves, building sustainable garden plots and teaching English to young children. If you are not able to volunteer,
rev up your giving engine and help send a student volunteer to represent you, your college, and your community.
There is no minimum gift; you can gift pennies from your pocket, you can gift anonymously, you can gift your name along
with your donation. By giving, you will know that your money has helped someone have clean water to drink, food to eat,
medical and dental care, education, and more.
Our second challenge to you:
Which college (Central, North or South) can raise the most money to send a volunteer student to make a difference
in the lives of others and be our ambassador?
Contribute by clicking the button on the right of the page. When it says “Designate this donation for a specific cause,”
please indicate Global Impact and if you wish the funds to go to a student at a specific College
— or if you are not from one of the individual colleges we can spread the funds equally.
Give what you can…. $10.00, $15.00, or more. Everything helps!
